News release – 1st July 2016

Bradford on Avon Town Council – Bike Festival Saturday 10th and 11th September 2016

Bradford on Avon Town Council are sorry to announce their decision to cancel the Bike Festival for the weekend 10th & 11th September 2016.

The decision has largely been made due to the current Holt Road closure (B3019) which has been in operation for several weeks as an infrastructure is created in a housing development to the east. The traffic diversion is currently causing long delays to motorists travelling through Bradford on Avon and it was felt that an additional road closure on the opposite side of town in Mason’s Lane, to hold the Bike Hill Climb, would have created further congestion.

Councillor Potter said ‘it is extremely disappointing that we have had to cancel this event but we are looking forward to planning next year’s event and working with all those participants who made the  2015 event so successful and welcoming lots more visitors to our beautiful town’.
