Temporary Closure of: A363 Market Street (Part), Bradford on Avon (Ref: TTRO 4457)

 Wiltshire Council

Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Closure of: A363 Market Street (Part), Bradford on Avon (Ref: TTRO 4457)

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic:

A363 Market Street (Part), Bradford on Avon; from its junction with Church Street to its junction with A363 Masons Lane.

To enable: Foundation Piling Ltd to secure a failing retaining wall.

Alternative route: via A363 Masons Lane – B3109 Mount Pleasant / New Road / Springfield – B3107 Holt Road / Woolley Street / Silver Street – A363 Market Street (unaffected length) and vice versa.

The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This Order will come into operation on 9 October 2016 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required 24 hours daily until 30 October 2016. Implementation of the road closure will be dependent upon suitable access to B3107 Holt Road being available following development work to enable a diversion route for traffic.

It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

For further information, please contact Foundation Piling Ltd on 01454 412300 (office hours) or 07903 730432 (outside of office hours).

Van or trailer use at household recycling centres

Temporary Changes to Bus Route 265 from Bath to Bradford on Avon

From Tuesday 16th August 2016 for approximately 2 weeks, traffic will not be able to turn right from Springfield on to Holt Road or Silver Street in Bradford-on-Avon.  This means that buses operating on route 265 from Bath to Bradford Town Centre, Trowbridge, Warminster and Salisbury will need to use Masons Lane instead and so will not be able serve the bus stops along Springfield or Mount Pleasant.  The nearest bus stop to Springfield for these buses will therefore be at Christchurch.

Fortunately buses operating towards Bath will not be affected by these works, so will continue to pick up at bus stops along Springfield as normal.

Posters explaining these temporary arrangements have now been placed at bus stops along Springfield and Mount Pleasant and these include details of local minibus service 98 which residents that live close to Springfield can use to travel from Springfield to Bradford-on-Avon Town Centre (albeit via a rather circuitous route).  Further details can be obtained by ringing the Wiltshire Council Passenger Transport Unit on 01225 718080.
